William "Mickey" Scott

Edwards Small Mortuary announces with our deepest sympathy the passing of William Scott on April 13, 2025. Our sincere condolences to the family and friends.

William "Mickey" Scott, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, peacefully departed this life on Sunday, April 13, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones.

Born on December 19, 1950, in Fort Valley, Georgia, to Lorene Neal and Fredrick Scott, he was a proud native of Fort Valley. He was affectionately known as "Mickey" to all who knew and loved him.

He attended school in his hometown and was a proud graduate of Fort Valley High School, home of the Greenwaves.

After high school, Mickey pursued a career in carpentry, where he found his true calling. As his skills grew, so did his ambition.

He eventually launched his own carpentry business, pouring his heart and soul into his work. His craftsmanship and dedication left a lasting imprint on the Fort Valley community—his work can still be seen in homes and buildings throughout the area. Mickey always gave credit for his talents and success to God.

He was a devoted member of Shiloh Baptist Church in Fort Valley, where his faith continued to strengthen throughout his life.

Following his retirement from the construction industry, Mickey embarked on a second career as a security officer. Even as health challenges arose, he faced each one with resilience, grace, and determination.

His warm smile, unwavering spirit, and kind heart touched the lives of many. He found joy in simple pleasures: cheering on his favorite sports teams, spending cherished time with his family, and enjoying a cold glass of sun-brewed tea.

He was preceded in death by three siblings: Harristine Haslam, Fred Scott, and Jeanette Dawson.

Mickey's legacy is one of love, faith, and quiet strength. He is survived by his devoted wife, Ruby Watson; his beloved children: Angeleck Scott, William Scott, Allison Scott, Sydney Scott, and Trevor Scott; his cherished grandchildren: Arondius Scott, Arondria Scott, Aiden Scott, Makenzie Scott, Lauryn Scott, Ameriah Wilson, Trinity Scott, William Scott ("Lil William"), Cheyenne Scott, and Caleigh Scott.

He also leaves to cherish his memory his siblings: Eloise Washington, Linda Bartley, Beverly Scott, Evelyn Scott, Kathy Scott, Samuel Scott, and Alfred Scott. In addition, he is fondly remembered by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

William "Mickey" Scott lived a life built on faith, family, and hard work—a life that will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.
