Edwards Small Mortuary announces with our deepest sympathy the passing of Michaela "Angel" Chaney on February 3, 2024. Our sincere condolences to the family and friends.
Michaela Jeane’ Chaney, was born March 21, 2000 to Tomeka L. Chaney and Michael D. Cox in Warner Robins, Georgia. She graduated from Peach County High School in Fort Valley, GA on the “A” honor roll in 2018, and was also a member of the varsity cheer squad. In continuing her educational journey, Michaela was a current student at Central Georgia Technical College, pursuing an Associate’s Degree in Nursing. Michaela was employed at Kohl’s Distribution Center in Macon, Georgia. Her life was dedicated to Christ under the pastorialship of the late Bishop Titus B. Deas, Sr., Greater Cathedral of Praise, Fort Valley, Georgia, where she sang in the choir and was an active member of the youth department.
Michaela was a light to all who knew her. Nicknamed “Angel” by her father, she was loved immensely by her family and friends. Always smiling, never forgetting a special occasion, always present; a shoulder to lean on when needed. Michaela had a passion for music. She would often sing at family functions, post videos online of her singing covers of songs. Michaela also kept a journal of songs she had written. She dreamed of being a star. She was known to break out singing at any moment, her voice filling the room. In addition to her love of music, Michaela developed a talent for applying makeup. She enjoyed helping her friends and family get dressed and ready for events and special occasions.
