Edwards Small Mortuary announces with our deepest sympathy the passing of Luverne Hill on October 30, 2024. Our sincere condolences to the family and friends.
Mrs. Luverne Hill, a beloved matriarch, was born on August 6, 1943, as the second of five children to the late Ordell and Ola Mae Sanders.
She received her education in the Peach County School System in Fort Valley, Georgia,
She received her education in the Peach County School System in Fort Valley, Georgia, proudly graduating from H. A. Hunt High School. Luverne dedicated many years of her proudly graduating from H. A. Hunt High School. Luverne dedicated many years of her life to serving the Peach County Board of Education, from which she later retired.
In a beautiful union, Luverne married Oscar Lee Hill, Jr., and together they welcomed three cherished children into the world.
Luverne was preceded in death by her sister, Joyce Morris.
Luverne accepted Christ as her Savior at an early age, finding her spiritual home at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church. She later transitioned her membership to Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, where she devoted herself to her faith and served on the Deacon Wives Ministry.
We are forever grateful for the invaluable blessing that Luverne brought into our lives.

Luverne's love for her family ran deep. There is no bond quite like the one she shared with her loved ones. She went above and beyond to ensure the well-being of her family. As a devoted wife, loving mother, cherished grandmother, nurturing great-grandmother, caring sister, and beloved aunt, she enveloped her loved ones with warmth and pride. Her unwavering faith, pure heart, and unforgettable smile will be deeply missed.
Luverne peacefully transitioned to her eternal rest on Wednesday, October 30, 2024, at the age of 81. We are forever grateful for the blessing that was her life.
She leaves behind a legacy of love that will forever resonate in the hearts of those she touched: husband of 61 years, Oscar Lee Hill, Jr.; three children, Sharon (Marvin) Walton, Tammie Hill, and Carol Hill Wolfork; one grandchild she raised as her own, Jacinta Hill; two sisters, Earnestine Sanders, Idella (Herman) Mathis; one brother, Ronnie (Sherry) Sanders; Grandchildren, Demetria (Willie) Ross, Jacinta Hill, Kiana Kegler, TeQuiera Wolfork, Tamiya Hill, Robin Hill, and Kallita Walton; Great grandchildren, Dallas Gooden, Austin Gooden, Caydence Scott and Houston Reeves; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
