Lula Mae Marshall Greene was born on April 18, 1937, to the parents of the late Washington Marshall Sr. and the late Floria Bell Johnson Marshall.
Lula was educated in the Peach County Public School System. She graduated from the H. A. Hunt High School and the Fort. Valley State College in Fort Valley, GA. She was a caring and dedicated Math Teacher. She taught and tutored her students in Talbot and Crawford Counties. Lula also taught at the Fort Valley State University in Fort Valley, GA.
She was married to Willie Greene and to this union was blessed with two sons.
Lula was a very faithful and dedicated member of the Saint Peter AME Church in Fort Valley, GA. She served in many church organizations with pride until her health failed her. Lula was a fantastic role model and truly loved the Lord.
She was also a member of the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority.
On Sunday, November 13, 2022, God called Lula from labor to reward. She departed this earthly life at the age of 85 years old. She was preceded in death by her parents and 12 siblings.
Lula will continue to live on within the loving memories of many but she will be especially cherished within the memories of her two sons: Ken(Debra) Greene of Ft. Valley, GA, and Gregory(Geraldine) Greene of Columbus, GA. Seven grandchildren: Kenyon Greene, Reggie Paschal, Challinte Battle, Dezmon Greene, Taiwan Greene, Victoria Holmes, and Sheena Holmes. Five great-grandchildren: Chance, Reggie Jr., Noah, Lola, and Dylan. Three brothers: Washington(Carolyn) Marshall Jr., Bura(Doris) Marshall Sr., and Willie Louis Marshall all of Fort Valley, GA. One sister: Mary Green of Fort Valley, GA. Four sisters-in-law: Carolyn Marshall of Fort Valley, GA, Annie Marshall of Byron GA, Willie Marshall of Monroe, GA, Melvina Marshall of Bogalusa, LA, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. A devoted friend and caregiver Eula Hollingshed of Fort Valley, GA.
