Edwards Small Mortuary announces with our deepest sympathy the passing of Levi Kendrick, Sr. on April 5, 2025. Our sincere condolences to the family and friends.
I have glorified You on the earth. I have finished the work which You have given Me to do…” John 17:4
May the works I've done speak for me. When I'm resting in my grave, there is nothing to be said; may the works that I've done, speak for me.May the life that I live speak for me. When the best I try to live,my mistakes He will forgive; may the life that I live speak for me.
May the service I give speak for me. When I've done the best I can,And my friends don't understand, may the service that I give speak for me.
Mr. Levi Kendrick Sr., affectionately known as "Bay," was born on December 4, 1938, to the late Lizzie Bawn and the late Doss Kendrick Sr. in Peach County, Georgia. He found eternal peace and transitioned on April 5, 2025, in Macon, Georgia.
In 1960, he married his beloved bride, Deloris “Shug” Davis Kendrick, in holy matrimony, and from this union, four children were raised. They leave behind a legacy of love, kindness, and cherished memories.
Levi was a devoted son and sibling who quickly assumed the role of "man of the house" at an early age. He worked as a farmer for over 60 years, culminating his last years with Lane Southern Orchard. Levi was a faithful member of Belvin AME Church in Marshallville, Georgia, attending regularly until his health declined. Bay was known by all and never met a stranger. His witty, old-fashioned, and often comical sayings will resonate in the ears of his family and friends for years to come.
He is also preceded in death by eight siblings: Vera Slappy, Yvonne Slappy Davis, Danny Askins, Ella Sanders, Alvenia Carter, Rose Kendrick, Lynn Kendrick, and Jeffrey Kendrick.
Levi leaves to cherish his memory and celebrate his life: a loving and loyal daughter, Carlotta (Ryan) Cutliff, Upatoi, Georgia; three devoted sons, Corey Lynn Davis, Fort Valley, Georgia, Levi (Katina) Kendrick, Jr., Fort Valley, Georgia and Adrian Leco Kendrick, St. Petersburg, Florida; grandchildren: Brandon Davis, Danta Thomas, Kiondra Nance, Riyotta Cutliff, Ryeshia Cutliff, Zanesia Kendrick, Eric Taylor Kynadi Kendrick; Adriana Kendrick, and Mason Kendrick; seven great-grandchildren; siblings: Barbara Banks, Bonaire, Georgia, Irene Streeter and Elnora Bawn, of Fort Valley, Georgia, USA (Retired) Joseph Bawn (Ruth), Dunn, North Carolina, Eddie Kendrick, Henry Kendrick and Wayne Kendrick, all of Miami, Florida, Morris Kendrick, Tampa, Florida, Gussie Williams, Miami, Florida, Gwen Ryan, Memphis, Tennessee, and JoAnn Kendrick, Nashville, Tennessee; sister-in-law, Annette Smith, Cottondale, Alabama; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
