Edward Small Mortuary announces with our deepest sympathy the passing of Lenard Edward Hill. Our condolences to the friends and family.
Mr. Lenard E. Hill was born January 12, 1954 to the parentage of Elijah and Mattie Hill in Fort Valley, Georgia.
He enlisted in the United States Army on June 25, 1973. Lenard began his education in the Peach County School System. He received his diploma in 1975 from the Nuernberg American High School, West Germany. Lenard served his country with distinction as a Water Treatment NCO and received many awards and decoration medals. They included: The Army Commendation Medal; The Army Achievement Medal, The Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Overseas Service Ribbons, Noncommissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon and the Rifle M16 Service Expert Ribbon. Sergeant Hill was Honorably discharged on March 29, 1991.
During his military service, he met and married Marie N. Castrillon on June 6, 1988.
Lenard accepted Christ and joined the Shiloh Baptist Church at an early age under the Pastorage of Silas McKenzie.
He was formally employed as a Truck Driver for Bulkmatic Transport, Schwerman Trucking, General Parcel, Wooten Transport, JB Hunt and Cagles Incorporated.
On Friday evening, March 17, 2023, Lenard Edward Hill was called home to his Heavenly Father. Both parents preceded him in death.
He leaves to cherish his memory, a beloved wife for over thirty years, Maria Hill, Perry, Georgia; his devoted sisters and brothers: Johnny (Willie Mae) Hill, Marshallville, Georgia; Gloria H. Wright, Warner Robins, Georgia; Nadine (Grover) Stephens, Fort Valley, Georgia; Venie (Kenton) Crawford, Perry, Georgia; a God brother: Napoleon (Della) Smith, Fort Valley, Georgia. He also leaves loving nieces and nephews: Charles Watson, Tiffany Dickson, Alvin Ross, Gita Wright, Travis Ross, Brandon Ross and a special great nephew: D'Andre Williams; an aunt: Elizabeth White; along with a host of other relatives and sorrowing friends.
