Edwards Small Mortuary announces with our deepest sympathy the passing of Ernest "Norris" Battle. "Ernest entered into eternal rest on February 14, 2023. Our condolences to the friends and family.
Affectionately called and known as “Norris or E”, he was born January 25, 1976 in Fort Valley, GA. Norris was preceded in death by his father Ernest Battle. He joined and attended St. Louis Methodist Church at a very young age.
He is survived by his mother Betty B. Ficklin, who resides in GA; cherished and loved stepfather, John Ficklin of GA; one precious son, Asher Woodrow Battle and his mother Alexsis Fuentes, who were dear to his heart, of GA; three siblings, Cynthia DeShields (Deon) of IL; Sheronda Brown of FL; brother, Terry of Texas; and a host of aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, and cousins. Norris had two lifelong friends Arthur George and Marcus Willis both of GA.
Norris resided and attended school in Peach County in the early stages of his life. Norris later moved to Macon, GA where he completed his education. While living in Macon, Norris developed and cherished long-lasting friendships and relationships.
In pursuit of his dreams and career, Norris moved to Atlanta, GA where he established a successful courier business. He had God-given visions, and he didn’t think about limitations that would hinder his vision. He walked in faith, and lived by faith knowing that God would provide, and He did!
Norris lived a life of generosity, kindness, gratitude, and love. He readily opened his heart to help others in whatever way he could. His easy-going spirit, good sense of humor, and many memorable moments will be cherished.
