Edwards Small Mortuary announces with our deepest sympathy the passing of Charles Barrett. Charles was pronounced on September 16, 2024. Our sincere condolences to the family and friends.
Charles Barrett affectionally known as “Pop-Pop” to many was born May 5, 1957 to the late Annie Willie Barrett and the late Charlie Bible of Florida.
He attended the Public Schools in Florida and later completed courses in order to earn a GED.
He loved fishing, as a matter of fact, he enjoyed fishing so much that he ended up snagging a job working at the fish market in
Fort Valley. He pride in explaining to his customers the differences between the fish and making recommendations to them.
He took pride in caring for his grandchildren. He loved playing games with his grandchildren and watching his favorite shows and movies on television.
Charles’s passionate love will forever be treasured by those he left behind, especially his children and grandchildren. Charles died peacefully in his sleep at his home.
He is preceded in death by his mom, Annie Willie Barrett and father Charlie Bible; grandparents: Annie Barrett and Willie Barrett; and the mother of all his children, Rutha Mae Jones. He will be sorely missed by everyone who knew him.
He leaves to cherish his loving memories: his children: Lisa Jones, LaShaw Jones, Yolanda Jones, Christine Jones, Charles Barrett Jr., and Jabarious Jones all of Fort Valley, Georgia; grandchildren: Brittany Jones, Kimberly Johnson, Kimora Johnson, Dream Dickson, Ashavia (Rogerick) Williams, Derontae Stewart, Jones, TyRonda Jones, Nakiyah Rashidi, Nikerria Jones, Jones, Quentel Shine, Deondray Shine, and Tyler (Brittany) Jones; 11 great grandchildren, a devoted friend Frankie Smith of Fort Valley, Georgia, close family friend, Nakima Elliot and a host of relatives and friends.
